Myanmar (Burma) Cyclone Victims

This is our 3rd major fundraising effort. We raised nearly $10,000 for the victims of the Tsunami in SE Asia and over $26,000 for the victims of Katrina. We at Shanrene, Inc. are now trying to do our part to help the victims in Myanmar that have been devastated by Cyclone Nargis. We are official partners with the Salvation Army, and as with Katrina, we will be donating to them for their work in Myanmar.

When we do these special fundraising events, we handle our donations to charity differently than we normally do. Depending on existing stock and demand, we will be donating a much higher percentage of the purchase price to this cause. Each product listed will display the exact amount that we will donate for each purchase.

The first pictures of the survivors' conditions show just how powerful this storm was and how long-lasting its effects will be. More than 25 million people lived in the cyclone's path and anywhere from 1 million to 2 million of them are now homeless, according to the United Nations. The Myanmar government says 22,000 people are dead and 40,000 are missing.

"One million people are currently in need of shelter and life-saving assistance," Richard Horsey, a spokesman for the U.N. humanitarian affairs office told ABC News in Bangkok. "There are townships in excess of [380 square miles] are completely under water."

Myanmar Cyclone Relief T-Shirt
This is a support t-shirt for the relief effort from the Nargis Cyclone. It has a small logo on the left chest. The logo has a ribbon and around the ribbon it says CYCLONE NARGIS - MYANMAR RELIEF EFFORT. The sleeve has the official Shanrene Charity logo.
