Since our beginning in 2003, our company has donated close to $175,000 in money, bracelets, and products to different charities. We have become one of the most popular places to buy personalized bracelets on the web and plan to continue on this course for years to come. Cancer Charities:
Shanrene, Inc. donates 10% of all gross cancer beaded bracelet sales to related foundations and organizations. This means 10% of the purchase price which allows us room for our costs. For all other awareness products we donate a set dollar amount for each item sold. The amount is shown in the product description for each item. We also donate our bracelets and jewelry to help raise money and awareness at numerous events.

Children's Cancer Charities:
Shanrene, Inc. is committed to helping children's charities. We currently donate 5% of all gross Mother's Bracelets sold on the web to The Heart Connection. Other Charities:
A portion of every awareness product purchased on Shanrene.com goes to some charity or organization. If we have a new bracelet creation, from AIDS Bracelets to Support Our Troops Bracelets, we find a place to donate part of the proceeds. We are committed to raising awareness and to charities. The children’s charity we have chosen to donate Mother's Bracelets proceeds to is The Heart Connection Children’s Cancer Programs in Des Moines, IA. It is an organization that is very dear to my heart. I became involved with The Heart Connection in 1991 as a camp counselor and ended up volunteering for many different activities until I moved to Colorado 7 years later.

It is an amazing non-profit organization that provides support and various programs for children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Among other things, they host two separate week-long camps. The first camp is an oncology camp for the children who are battling cancer or in remission. The second camp is for their siblings who are trying to deal with the changes in their family or loss of a sibling. Thanks to donations, these camps are free of charge. They also host various family support groups and outings, a mid-year ski reunion for the campers, a yearly memorial race in remembrance of a camper who passed away, and many other events.

The people I met during my years with the Heart Connection are some of the most amazing people I know. The strength of the children I have counseled is insurmountable. The dedication of the volunteers is never ending. The same faces come back year after year. While I am not close enough to volunteer any longer, I still want to be able to do something for these wonderful people. In addition, new programs that address contemporary needs have been established. Among these are disaster relief services, day care centers, summer camps, holiday assistance, services for the aging, AIDS education and residential services, medical facilities, shelters for battered women and children, family and career counseling, vocational training, correction services, and substance abuse rehabilitation. More than 30 million a year are aided in some form by services provided by The Salvation Army. Web Site	The Heart Connection The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs has provided support services and programs for children with cancer and their families since 1988. The organization sponsors two week-long summer camps for children with cancer and their siblings. Approximately 300 children attend the annual camp programs designed to help these children briefly escape cancer’s effects on both them and their family. The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs also provides support groups, outings to events such as Disney on Ice, and weekend retreats for an additional 450 children and family members throughout the year. The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs provides these services for all children diagnosed and/or treated in Iowa. This includes children from every corner of the state, as well as children from western Illinois and southeastern South Dakota. Shanrene, Inc. donates money to this charity for every Mother's Bracelet we sell.
